What is Wellbeing?

Wellbeing is a state of comfort, health, and happiness. It includes physical, mental, and emotional health, all of which are intertwined and affect one another. Wellbeing is more than just the absence of illness or stress; it entails prospering in all aspects of life.

1. Components of Wellbeing: Physical wellbeing is the ability to keep your body healthy through correct eating, exercise, and sleep.

2. Emotional Wellbeing: This is defined as the ability to manage stress, maintain positive relationships, and effectively deal with emotions.

3. Mental Wellbeing: Keeping your mind bright, focused, and positive.

4. Social Wellbeing: This refers to a sense of belonging, connectedness, and support from friends, family, and the community.

When these components are in balance, you feel more capable of handling the demands of life — including academic pressures like exams.

Privacy, Liberty and DEMOCRACY

Trust is a word we must never take for granted especially with safegaurding our young. Here at  Dennis-academy we however, draw a  line on

Questioning students financial status at home,

we believe this creates a safeguarding issue, all lines of enquires must be with the parents direct, by applications etc. We believe anything else creates animosity for the student and manifest unhappiness throughout the school.

You are what you eat. Our health. well being and mental state are just as important as our Education.

When  we should be taking notice of what title is written on the board, we become more engulfed in matters that are not education related, but are becoming more and more like our friend Jessica.

I have covered many schools in London and Hackney stands out by far as problematic area in education and that's coming from someone whose been at the gates of competition. I believe there’s something deeper rooted is at play and it’s unfair on our beautiful students It’s almost criminal. A

student business is to study, not to give a financial report. As those who protect their capital we must protect our lives (how we choose to live under the same roof). Be safe to all our students out there , never put yourselves in a predicament.

You must be a victim of it, i was never born aggressive but vividly remember a business women who was in a rush, her train had broken down so she had to wait in Hackney. I remember her in a heated exchange with the transport staff and saying why are you people all so aggressive and then storming off. It’s an interesting argument, ok no one is on about race, well I hope that isn't  what she meant, but more to the point of the delivery of service, now we're trying to understand this behaviour stigma that keeps following us time after time in Hackney. Look, we meet in the park listen to music and we are at peace. Forget about it. But who is always watching our  every move? children . You could be at home arguing children are always watching and listening. I was never born aggressive, but I have heard the cries of the young on the receiving end of antisocial behaviour in Hackney. I, too was a victim to antisocial behaviour and lost my home to fraud. it damages communities it effect our young and I believe this is what fuelling Hackney and putting our young at a safeguarding risk. There is a way to deliver a service and it’s how you  liaise, sadly this borough fails in every department.

Why are people in urban areas  seem so angry?

I was never born aggressive. And I don’t need anyone telling me how to be etiquette, I can do that myself. And it’s this we must do for ourselves in Hackney.

Somebody says something and the way it was said, it sounds cool and hip and they get that respect, and what happens in our learning? everyone wants to be cool. In-fact it mimicks the fonz I had seen on youTube he was cool everyone wanted to be just like him.

Look, our learning is vulnerable when we are children, and sometimes when we are learning slang words it’s hard to lose it. You must be aware how you speak when in a formal setting. This is the make or break moments.

Society has its cruel innovations upon judgment. This robs us and as children we walk into something we know nothing, but just follow the crowd.

                                     Pollution

because there are more people and also because many people in urban areas live in flats where they’re prone to hearing sounds from above. Noise pollution leads to higher blood pressure which makes people more temperamental. It can also create stress.

Big cities are usually crowded and this leads to more pedestrian/traffic congestion. The congestion means people waste more time commuting and therefore, they have to be in a hurry to go everywhere. Being in a hurry makes them less patient and increase their blood pressure.

The large population means there’s so much opportunity in big cities and as the result, a lot of people move there just for the sake of making as much money as possible. The competitive environment makes people less friendly.

can have life-long negative effects. It can affect the development of children who manifest aggression and the peers with whom they interact. And parents and teachers experience stress and frustration in handling aggressive behaviors, which overtime can affect their well-being.

COMMUNITY

"We at Dennis-Academy want to be an extended family to you, your well-being means everything to us"

p0j5k07t.jpg

with reference to poor housing are brand new homes classed as poor housing? The fact is these buildings we're built by their builders in the borough of hackney. The next line will shock you:

i once arrived home feared i had been burgled, because I heard voices in my home. I was absolutely stunned it was the next door neighbours voice in my living room. How is that even possible? my previous home I gave up {on the grounds of anti-social behaviour} never had this. I was duped by the council I, was duped by the housing association one housing. Nobody was living there, so they waited for time to-go by so I wouldn’t notice. Anti-sociol behaviour is big money used as a tool for profit: so it's fraud. An elected council was involved. And this is the similarities we have with our students behaviour in schools.

People must be responsible for themselves, schools must be responsible for the upkeep of values, No one can defend the indefensible in this matter

new homes are being built with a gap in the walls. If you split the wall into two. The top half of their walls have no sound proof in a majority of their homes.

You can put this to test: if you're able to hear your neighbours conversation in full you have the same problem. There is something sinister at play and this administration is at the heart of it. We believe anti-sociol behaviour is being used as capital to create wealth. And we don't need to go into detail you get our meaning. We are trying to understand the restlessness of our students in the classroom, and yet trying to stay humble as a public business, because we have no voice: stay silent just get on with it. we must be a audience to brilliant teachers walking away from the profession, os seeing the damage done to our brilliant students, that isn't right, in fact it's criminal. We are human beings these are our children. it is now becoming clearer day by day what's going on, we would like to make a shout out to ms Luxmy Gopal our friend a journalist at the BBC.

People are dieing from anti-social behaviour
(noise)  in their homes in Hackney

The most disturbing aspect about this is this administration
knows about this, as they work closely with housing associations. One of the biggest trust issues in hackney, no MP can defend this and it will probably be their titanic.

And

Noise pollution is a growing global problem. As populations increase, so do the noise levels that form the urban soundscape. The UN has warned that urban noise pollution anti-social behaviour 'noise' is becoming a "global public health menace", which already leads to 12,000 premature deaths each year in the European Union, and affects an estimated 100 million Americans

Environmental noise, particularly road traffic noise but also aircraft noise, is among the most damaging environmental factors to health, after air pollution. Such noise has been found to increase chronic stress and cause disturbed sleep and higher blood pressure.

Noise and noise annoyance have been associated with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, and noise exposure has also been associated with a greater diabetes risk. Loud noise from sources such as music through headphones, motorcycles and even leafblowers, can over time lead to hearing loss and tinnitus

Defined as unwanted or disturbing sounds, noise pollution from increasing traffic and crowded schools,

can also have a detrimental impact on babies' and children's health and development. This is particularly true for children from low socio-economic backgrounds, who are exposed to higher levels of environmental noise.

MENTAL Health

be kind to your brain

   The Role  Of

Children who experience anxiety in school often try to hide their struggles and appear composed, even when they are emotionally distressed internally. Masking or camouflaging refers to the behaviours that children may adopt to hide their anxious feelings from others. This could be because they’re trying to avoid negative judgment, don’t understand their emotions, believe they should manage these feelings independently, or internalise their emotions so as not to draw attention to themselves.

This can make it challenging for parents, teachers, or caregivers to recognise the symptoms of anxiety, as the signs may not be apparent or may be misinterpreted as something else.

Environmental factors such as authoritarian parenting, non-restorative behavioural systems in schools, and different forms of abuse can contribute to the development of masking behaviours. People may adopt masking as a coping mechanism or response to trauma, either subconsciously or consciously. Based on my experience working with schools and parents, it is crucial to prioritise the social, emotional, or learning needs that underlie masking or camouflaging behaviours.

So, you're doing the work and you just don't get it and it's becoming boring, 'i'm not going to ask that teacher again because my friends may think im dull', so im just going to talk about that movie, or that video game. Look, we've all been there you switch off lose interest,

so you won't be the first. but I advised this: what is the title of the subject on the board?, ask the teacher for a piece of paper. Ok so we can make mistakes on this and gather our thoughts, break it down into stages as a mind map. Just think about the key words, what is the question asking? â€‹â€‹

HRH PRINCE HARRY

be kind to your brain

We must look at education in a different light. Let's stop watching the clock. Let's get away from this monotonous routine. The title is on the board we are about to learn something epic. How amazing is that? Sit back, relax. Let our brains do some work for a change. And we know when its happening when we focus. to force our brain to retrieve information. Be kind to your brain. We're using every muscle in our body, and yet we keep ignoring the main muscle.

Sometimes It takes us to step back and analyse what’s before us, our brain is waiting to help us. Someone will tell you over and over the answer, but it’s you that must retrieve the answer then convince your brain that is the answer, once you get to that stage your brain is locked onto whatever you’ve assigned your brain to. If you’re doing homework at home just take a break go for a walk but analyse what it is in the question that you don’t understand, be kind to your brain, don’t shut it out, what ever the hurdle, or maze is you and your brain will become stronger and will have a stronger bond.

I have seen all too frequently students get restless and here’s the shock to the world, sometimes the ones who play up, know how to write the answer to the question, but because of the mood their in and because they think they control the class they need 1 or 2 students to be an audience to their behaviour.

3_edited.jpg

imagine, first thing in the morning at school you noticed a student in your classroom behaving out of character nobody knows what is creating this, but its unfair on us that we must be a witness to this aggrieved  behaviour that we haven't seen in our school. This now changes the moral stance on learning that bonding which now  begins to dissipate.

Arguments at home

Angry arguments at home can have serious effects on children - including pains, behaviour issues and even growth problems

  • Witnessing parents argue can have range of negative consequences

  • Particularly if child sees 'destructive' fights or put in the middle of conflict

  • Headaches, abdominal pains and even reduced growth can be brought on by the insecurity a child can feel by seeing their parents at war

  • Relationship patterns can be passed down generations

  • Parents can learn more constructive ways to argue to reduce damage

The importance of family

2_edited.jpg

Family is everything and it's not for sale, and we at Dennis academy understand the severity of this. Look, when parents are involved in their education, children do better on a wide range of measures. These positive effects include: Better behaviour. More confidence and greater self-esteem.

Can you Learn under fear?

Can we truly learn under fear? Fear of the end of the world, or the fear of mr Hobbs and his foul attitude in the classroom on a Monday morning. And if there is a Mr Hobbs out there, my deepest apologies,

sir! it was just a name to go with the script.

Omg, this behaviour is going from bad to worse.

Ok, so the short answer to the question is no. The long answer is Yes, what about those students who are up to mischief suddenly assert themselves when they see the head of year. O, That is known as house of order. So, yes it works for them. Look, It's a complex matter. behaviour is dictating all of us.

Does Keisha Thorpe resemble a strict teacher? No, my point being is: its your gravity of engagement. There  is nothing wrong being assertive. Maybe. being strict takes the marvellous; out of learning, the enthralment of selling the subject. I don't know? the truth is this behaviour stuff is dictating us. Look, there is no such word as being strict, if a teacher abides by the schools policy then no problem. Right? wrong. Students are finding a loophole in this matter and are questioning everyday.

I, however, should not be the eyes and ears for someone else.

that’s why I’m hoping Prince Harry will get involved in what

is an aggrieved matter in our education in Hackney and has been for years.

jessica's story

Nobody knows what goes on in jessica's household but what we do know it has an effect on school. Never be silent when something is troubling you. better to speak to someone in authority where you know its going to be safe. My safe guarding team will lead by data everyday to make sure our students are safe. Teachers are expected to report on everything no matter how trivial.
